Iceland in the Football World Cup

Last Wednesday I got my stamp order from Iceland.

This is one stamp I ordered:

Iceland's Participation in the Football World Cup (issued 26-04-2018)
For Iceland it is the first time to take part in a Football World Cup. Iceland is thus the smallest nation ever to participate in such a tournament. Although the Icelandic team was one of the favourites for the title, it unfortunately did not make it through the group stage. This stamp is still something very special, as all the members of the Icelandic national football team participated in its design during their training camp in Qatar. It is probably the first time that a national football team designed its own stamp.

I also ordered the FDC of the stamp.

Reformation in Iceland

Last Wednesday I got my stamp order from Iceland.

500 years Reformation (issued 14-09-2017)

The stamp is printed on flock paper.

Hallgrimskirkja in Reykjavik

As Christmas present I got this year some online ordered stamps including some stamps from Iceland

This is one set I got:

Christmas (issued 31-10-2013)

The stamps show parts of the stained-glass window above the door of the Hallgrimskirkja in Reykjavik and when it is scanned with the "Sepac App" it creates a three-dimensional picture of the church, because the stamps use modern Augmented Reality technology.

Icelandic Soil

As Christmas present I got this year some online ordered stamps including some stamps from Iceland

This is one souvenir sheet I got:

Stamp Day - International Year of Soils (issued 10-09-2015)

Preserving Glaciers and Polar Regions

This week was my birthday and I got many stamps. Most of the stamps are from countries that I had not had in my collection before. One new country was Iceland.

Iceland is a country in Northern Europe and the second-largest insular state in Europe. The capital of Iceland is Reykjavik. Iceland is a member of the UN, of the NATO and of the OECD.

One stamp set from Iceland is this:

Preserving Glaciers and Polar Regions (issued 29-01-2009)

If you heat the stamps, the most of the violet stripes will disappear.
