Ancient Beech Forests of Germany

On Thursday I bought the first German stamps issued in 2014.

One stamp is this:

Ancient Beech Forests of Germany (issued 02-01-2014)

In 2011 the Primeval Beech Forests of the Carpathians in Slovakia and the Ukraine were extended. Since then the Ancient Beech Forests of Germany are also a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The Ancient Beech Forests of Germany are forests in the nationalparks Hainich in Thuringia, Kellerwald-Edersee
in Hessen, Jasmund und Müritz in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern and the woodland Grumsin in the Biosphere reserve Schorfheide-Chorin in Brandenburg.
