Dorcas Gazelle

This week was my birthday and I got many stamps. Most of the stamps are from countries that I had not had in my collection before. One new country was Israel.

Israel is a state in Western Asia and is bordered by Lebanon, Syria, Jordan, Egypt and the Palestinian National Authority. The capital of Israel is Jerusalem. Israel is a member of the UN and of the OECD.

The stamp from Israel is this:

Endangered Species from the Desert to the Arctic (issued 11-06-2013)
(It is a joint issue with Greenland)

The stamp shows a Dorcas Gazelle (Gazella dorcas). The Dorcas Gazelle is one of the smallest gazelles and lives in semi-desert and deserts of North Africa. The Dorcas Gazelle does not need much water, because she gets enough water from her food.
The stamp shows also a Polar Bear.
