Endangered Birds from Indonesia

On Tuesday I got a postcard from Indonesia.

India's Old Post Offices

On Monday I got two FDCs from South Korea and an Indian postcard with a complete stamp set on it.

The stamp set on the postcard was this:

South Korea-Germany joint issue FDC

On Monday I got two FDCs from South Korea and a Indian postcard with a complete stamp set on it.

One of the FDCs was this:




Stamp:
130 years of diplomatic relations between Korea and Germany (issued 05-06-2013)
(It is a joint issue with Germany)

The German stamp was issued one day after the South Korean stamp because the 6th June is a important holiday in South Korea.

Year of the Snake FDC

On Monday I got two FDCs from South Korea and a Indian postcard with a complete stamp set on it.

It is the last stamp of this New Year's series from South Korea.

It is a really great stamp because it glows in the dark.


I was looking so long for one of this stamps and now I got this FDC and five postcards with this stamp.

Andorran stamp with mirror

Last year I got my first stamp from Andorra.

Andorra is a country in the Pyrenees bordered by France and Spain. The capital of Andorra is Andorra la Vella. In Andorra are two different postal administrations. These two are the French Post and the Spanish Post. My stamp was issued by the French Post.

Mr Men and Little Miss

At the beginning of the year I got my first stamp set from Guernsey.

Guernsey is the second-largest Channel Island. Guernsey is neither a part of the European Union nor of the United Kingdom, but a British Crown Dependency. The capital of Guernsey is Saint Peter Port. Guernsey issues it's own stamps since 1958.

The stamp set was this:

- Mr Strong
- Mr Tickle

Mr Men is a British children's book series written by Roger Hargreaves (1935-1988). The characters are creatures with a distinct temperament, characteristic or body part.
Roger Hargreaves lived awhile on Guernsey.

Our City in a Garden

Before my trip I got a great postcard from Singapore with a complete stamp set on it.
The stamp set is this:

The stamps show animals living and flowers blossoming in Singapore in front of Singapore's Skyline.

In 1963 Singapore's former Prime Minister Lee Kuan Yew planted the first tree as start of the greening campaign. Over the years more and more plants were planted in Singapore.

On the postcard is also a very special version of the 1st local stamp with real seeds inside.

Red Cross stamp from Austria

The last two weeks I was on a trip to Austria and Italy. When I was in Austria I was in a post office where I bought some nice Austrian stamps.
One of them is this:

The last two weeks I was on a trip to Austria and Italy. When I was in Austria I was in a post office where I bought some nice Austrian stamps.
One of them is this:


Wild animals and hunt (issued 14-03-2013)

The stamp shows a chamois (Rupicapra rupicapra) or more precisely a female, a pup and the track of a chamois. The chamois lives in Europe and Asia Minor.The hunting of chamois take place in the high mountains because the animals live there.
The stamp is the second stamp of a series. The first one was issued in 2012.

Nature Protection Society stamp from Austria

100 years of Nature Protection Society of Austria (issued 07-06-2013)

The Nature Protection Society of Austria is the oldest environmental organisation in Austria and has about 80 000 members.
The stamp shows the logo and a kingfisher.

Postojna Cave-Underground Post Office (issued 06-04-2013)
(It is a joint issue with Slovenia)

The Postojna Cave (Slovenian: Postojnska jama; German: Adelsberger Grotte) is located near the city of Postojna in Slovenia and is the second-largest for visitors developed stalactite cave in the world. Between 1900 and 1914 the Royal and Imperial Post had a post office only for the cave

I also bought a extra one to send it on a postcard to me. But I just used the stamp and kept the rest of the souvenir sheet. 


Pilgrimage stamp from Austria

The last two weeks I was on a trip to Austria and Italy. When I was in Austria I was in a post office where I bought some nice Austrian stamps.
One of them is this:


500 years of pilgrimage in Maria Luggau (issued 31-05-2013)


Maria Luggau is a place of pilgrimage in Carinthia. About 40 000 pilgrims visit it every year.

It is a very special souvenir sheet. The border has a lace pattern.
